Birthdays displaying with incorrect dates

I have a friend whose birthday is October 1st which is what's registered in their contact, but the app is saying their birthday is September 30th instead. I'm guessing there is some type of timezone issue happening (maybe it assumes the date is in UTC and so is a day early when translating to my local timezone?)

This is happening to me as well. All birthdays appear to be one day earlier than they actually are. In case it’s helpful, I’m in Pacific Time (US west coast).
